I extend good wishes from Takth Harmandir Saheb on the auspicious occasion of PRAKASH UTSAV to all the esteemed members of our society.
It is a moment of honor and humility for me as I write my first message as the President of the East zone Chapter of the Urological Society of India’. I am indeed indebted to the Almighty and you all for considering me capable to serve and lead. First and foremost, I would like to assure all that my conduct will be congruous with the best interest of the society and its members.
The grand annual Zonal conference at Imphal was so well organized by Dr.Kaku Singh and Dr. Soumerendra Khumukchum under the leadership of our esteemed member Dr. S. Rajendra Singh that they deserve a big applause for the same and we are looking forward for the Golden Jubilee conference of the U S I at Mumbai.
The East Zone Chapter of Urological Society of India, despite so many constrains is progressing fast to match the national standard in development of urology. During the past decade the Urology care in the zone has made a tremendous development by more and more centers providing almost all sorts of Urological care to its patients like Endo-urology Renal Transplant and Advance Laparoscopic Urology . Still we need to have more and more centers in our zone to train qualified Urologists so that specialized Urological care is made available to our patients in the zone .Our national body Urological Society of India is taking a lot of efforts to provide technological training to our trainee Urologist under the UROMET program and its likely to commence soon. The USI is also effortful to formulate guidelines for common Urological diseases and we hope our patients will be able to receive standard care across the nation.
I, on behalf of all the members of EZ USI wish to thanks the office bearers of society especially our Immediate Past President Prof. Dr.Anup Kundu ,Secretary Dr. Harprit Singh and Treasurer Dr.Ranjan Dey , who tirelessly worked to procure the PAN No. for the society and now onwards several financial issues related to Organization of Conferences and workshops will better taken care of.
Still a lot has to be done, on priority all the senior members of the society should instigate our younger colleagues to get membership of the zonal and National body of the Urological Society of India.
LONG LIVE U S I
